Day 7 - Getting to Monzuno

We packed up and left the Airbnb early as it was going to be along day. Rode south on the west side of Lake Como, taking in the breathtaking views and many beautiful little villages. We stopped this lovely little typically Italian cafe and had croissants and pain au chocolates and coffee!
We decided to blast past Milan on the Motorway and get south of the city before getting off the main road and back on the side roads. Got done Modena before we got off. A very good choice actually as it saved us a significant amount of time in the blistering heat. Obviously had to have the obligatory cup of tea in a service station!
Rode some beautiful Tuscany roads and then left turn to get to our home for the next 3 nights - a stunning house in the Tuscany Hills. It's a gorgeous evening sitting here talking with Dani Steff and the Grrrrrrrandsprog! Lemon Cello starter followed by mucheous wine and beer!

Louis and Rhian at home looking after Stanley and he's all fine.

The house is exactly as described on the Airbnb site - the owners are lovely, the place is fantastic, the views incredible, although it is in the middle of nowhere and we have to climb the hills at least 1000 meters to get here! The little ride down the shaily path to get to the house was a bit hairy! - bikes don't like loose stones, neither do the riders...
Bikes parked in the shade, beer and wine purchased and settled in for a boozy, food fest of an evening.
A few different meats, bread and cheese to keep us company. That was a long days' ride, but very enjoyable. Now the reward of relaxation in the hills in between Florence and Bologna.
