Day 14 - Getting to Flöha
This route up to Flöha was just stunning. East Germany is not mountainous, but certainly undulating, and they must have spent a fortune on the roads, as the surfaces were so flat and smooth; bet they were designed by and for bikers!!!
Before leaving though, we were treated to an excellent breakfast in bed, from this wonderful stopover. We think it was an old monastery and each room would have been the high clergy's top notch priests that stayed there as living quarters. This was a memorable place to stay and stands out amongst all the hotels.

We stopped at a very posh road side cafe, which as you'll have gathered is not our normal type of place to stop at, we prefer the rough and ready cafes. Anyway thought we'd treat ourselves. Bad choice; who can't boil water! The teas' and the coffee were luke warm at best, beautifully served but what a disappointment. Going to revert to norm from now on..

Toby trying his hand at being photographer of the year - think he's nailed it with this one, so I'll submit asap 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Got the hotel and (obviously) had to have couple for beers. On the terrace we think, overlooking some beautiful scenery. The beer was splendid, unlike the hotel, which has seen better days. It was certainly a grand hotel in its day, but everything looked dated and tatty. However the menu looked superb and we couldn't get a table outside to eat at, as they were all fully book. I great sign of things to come!
'Nuff said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
