Day 10 - Getting to Bolzano
A long days' ride today - initially smashed it up the motorway through Bologna, but then got off and followed the country roads for miles. This is why we have motorbikes - the roads were just sweeping and fast and just brilliant!
The views were still stunning though!
Stopped in smegsville (Castelnuovo del Garda) for a well earned beer, as is our way, and had a very refreshing and much needed beer. We were now off the motorway having blasted up and beyond Bolzano.
We eventually got to Bolzano, but had to do a few naughty manoeuvres! There was a 30 kilometre queue on the A22 to Bolzano due a very serious accident that occurred at 6:40 in the morning. We filtered down the hard shoulder and we may have a ticket winging our way, but the people in the queue are probably still there - 7 hours later. It was also 35 degrees so we were boiling up in the heat. 
Got to the hotel, had couple of beers and then out for a meal. Found a really good Chinese restaurant, best in Bolzano apparently - bagged a bus ride down and had a wonderful meal! Couple of beers on the way back and going to have an early night so we can get out to Livigno tomorrow, 1st thing. We have just found out the Gavia Pass has re-opened so happy days!!!!

Not sure what this dip was, but it was the hottest dip known to man and very lovely. Also best hot & sour soup ever!!!

Stanley and George living the dream - in the pub, eating crips, watching the world go by, getting snacks from the locals and then back to the tribe to have a well earned snooze together!!
